”Movement – Peter Opsvik”

This exhibition is first of all a presentation of Peter Opsvik’s thoughts of chairs and sitting.

The best sitting posture is
after a while
always the next

Movement is essential to both our physical and emotional well-being, stagnation often leads to discomfort. Our bodies are built for dynamic activity, not static strain.
Recognising this, Peter Opsvik envisions the chair as a bridge between the dynamic body and the static world around us.

This exhibition invites visitors to actively engage with Opsvik’s innovative designs, exploring how his furniture reflects our innate need for movement. It addresses the challenges of modern sedentary lifestyles and presents creative, thoughtful solutions through Opsvik's pioneering work.

The exhibition is structured in three phases: — curiosity, understanding, and solutions. It showcases a range of Opsvik’s creations, from advanced functionally furniture to handcrafted expressive art pieces.

Through his industrial designs, Opsvik aims to move us physically, encouraging healthier interactions with our environments. At the same time, his art objects aspire to resonate emotionally, inspiring us on a deeper, more personal level.
